Beth has a problem. She is about to leave home for college soon to go to an art school in Cincinnati. Her soon to be lover, Randy, is planning to move to Pittsburg, a six hour drive from where she will be, to work at his uncle’s construction company. She lays awake at night thinking about how unbearable it would be to live that far away from the man that she loves. Before she leaves they succumb to each other’s passion and she gives him her innocence. During this time there is a big black panther that is spotted by quite a few of the people that live around her in the foothills of the Appalachians. Some have even said that this panther is wearing a collar.

One snowy night, Beth is stunned to find the panther at her door. When she opens the door, the panther makes itself at home, curls up on her bed and starts to purr. This is the start of a wonderful lifelong friendship. While curled up petting her new friend, she can not help but feel that she is forgetting something or that she has met this panther before. This panther continues to show up at different times throughout Beth’s life.

Free Spirits by Zinnia Hope was a very good book. It spanned the years of Beth’s life and the lives that she lived. It is interesting, emotional, touching and keeps you thinking and involved. The human relationships Beth has throughout her life are very well written and believable. The author did a wonderful job, while writing about different times and lives to make it easy for the reader to follow. This was a very imaginative story and the author deserves much credit for her ability to tell such a tale.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed my novella! The past two days have been so rough and stressful for me, so when I found this review, it gave me the emotional lift I needed! Thank you.
