Author Interview with Amy Mistretta

After reading and reviewing "Secrets Within" I felt honored to have this opportunity to interview Suspense author, Amy Mistretta.
Ms Mistretta is a multi-publishing author who likes to ride on the back of a Harley Davidson with her husband in front.
She not only loves the characters she uses in her books but also her kids and pets: a Yorkshire Terrier and a cat. She loves romance and her favorite movie is Dirty Dancing.


Where did the idea come from to write a story about being in love with an ex-convict?  Actually the story was never intended to be focused on the ex-con aspect, but rather finding out the truth behind Evan Payne's shady conviction. As for Reese falling in love with him, well, that just couldn't be helped!

If you would fall in love with a guy and you find out he's an ex convict, would that stop you from having a relationship with him? I'll have to play the fifth on that one, seeing as I'm a married woman. ;)

Was it difficult to write a story like that?  It's not something people often write about, and you did it in such a nice way. Well, thank you! For me it wasn't difficult. But in order to write that type of plot, I had to do a lot of research and be careful of what I wrote each step of the way since the character would have to be pretty trusting, without looking naïve, to get involved with a person with such a past.

Are you as open minded in life as the main character Reese is in your novel?  I find her a loving person. I like to think that a little part of me comes through in each of my characters.

Is there another author you admire?   Someone who is or was an example to you? I am an avid reader and have always been inspired by Sandra Brown and Nora Roberts, to name a few.

You have a very enchanting and realistic way of writing, as if it comes natural to you, does it so? Thankfully, yes it does. I think it would show if I didn't have a passion for what I do. Thank you for the compliment!
